A Day Exploring the World of Energy

On 21 May, as part of the school project “Energy and the Energy Self-Sufficient School of the Future”, teachers and students from our school visited the interactive energy centre World of Energy in Krško, Slovenia, located near the Krško Nuclear Power Plant. The educational field trip brought together eight teachers from different subject areas — Mathematics, Physics, English, History, Primary Education and ICT — together with the school principal and eight students from the 7th and 8th grades.

During the visit, students explored the fascinating world of energy through interactive exhibits and multimedia presentations. They learned about sustainable development, renewable energy sources and the importance of energy conservation in everyday life. The museum offered many hands-on activities that encouraged students to think critically about the future of energy production and responsible energy use.

The visit was especially valuable because it connected knowledge from different school subjects and allowed students to see how science, technology and environmental awareness work together in real life. Students discovered how renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power can contribute to a more sustainable future and reduce the impact on the environment.

This educational experience is part of the school project “Energy and the Energy Self-Sufficient School of the Future”, whose goal is to encourage students to become environmentally responsible and energy-aware citizens. Through research, teamwork and creative activities, students will continue developing their own ideas and models of an energy-efficient school of the future.
